Re: Mary's 3rd Update 20060414

Dear Friends,

Sorry to be slow in giving you another update but I wanted to know something
more final about Mary抯 condition.  We now have home care help throughout
the day.  She has completed all her spot radiation treatments which were
designed to make her more comfortable.  She is now under the care of a
hospice nurse who visits as needed throughout the week.  All that is being
done now is to make her comfortable at this time.  The cancer has spread too
much for further medical care.  We are still praying for God抯 healing hand
but realize that may not be his plan.
Mary first had melanoma cancer some 14 years ago.  We are thankful that God
has spared her life this long.  The treatment she has had will prolong her
life for a few months.  Mary has a strong faith that God has prepared a
wonderful place for her in heaven.  Your many prayers on her behalf have
helped too.
Mary has many fond memories of her time in China and all the friends she has
made there.  Mary has really enjoyed teaching in China.  She only wished she
had the opportunity earlier in life.  She feels that this was what she
really enjoyed and was good at.  She really loves her students and wishes
she could see them again.  They are still present in her memory.  She has
enjoyed your many e-mails and phone calls.
Mary has progressed from her walker to a wheel chair.  She tires very easily
and sleeps a lot.  Mary struggles to find food that appeals to her and is
continuing to battle nausea.  But her many pills keep her from pain and
treat her nausea and allow her to sleep.  Please keep her in your prayers.
